Brown in Wrexham showing Labour panic over seat and region - Tom Rippeth4.49.34pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 4th May 2010
Responding to the visit of Gordon Brown to Wrexham today, Tom Rippeth, Welsh Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate said: "Gordon Brown's visit to Wrexham today shows that Labour are panicking about their support in this seat and across North Wales. The amount of visits they've had here over the last few days just goes to show that they need something else to boost their support as their record of government over the last 13 years does nothing to help them. "They know that their vote has collapsed here and right across North Wales. They are desperate to bolster this waning support. "They've had 13 years to bring about the changes that people want and they have failed. They must not be allowed five more years in control of our public services and our economy. "Gordon Brown's visit to the constituency today will remind people of his failure to deal with the economic crisis and his poor record as Prime Minister over the past three years. "Support for the Liberal Democrats has been growing and growing as people are turning away from a failed Labour party. In Wrexham, if you vote Lib Dem you will get a hardworking Member of Parliament representing all the people in this constituency and a strong voice for North Wales."
